WHY WE GOT STARTED
Seed to Sage is passionate about bringing nature back into the outdoor spaces of urban areas. We are a part of nature, and no matter where we live, we are still under nature's law.
We incorporate the larger vision of local ecosystems into every design. We believe the longevity of humans relies on the incorporation of growing your own food and growing food for the pollinators and wildlife around us, all while building soil and mending the Earth.

A garden is never finished it has been said, this is why Seed to Sage offers the unique ability to work with clients over time. In the hopes that you the client, will start off as a seed and expand into your own garden sage of wisdom. We want to instill a relationship in our clients with the garden that turns into something beautiful, teach others how to get to know the plants in their area, answer questions and help in any way throughout the design, maintenance or install process.

WHO IS SEED TO SAGE
Seed to Sage is owned and operated by Kaleigh Schmidt, who has lots of passion and enthusiasm for the work she does. A seed was planted for her on creating this business with the goal to not only see more organic gardening occurring in urban areas, but also to teach others, give the gift of nature's knowledge, and create more Earth ambassadors.
Kaleigh's background:
Kaleigh is a Landscape Designer, (Fanshawe College, London, Ontario) determined to enliven the outdoor spaces of yards everywhere. She continued her education, getting certified through The Living Centre in Permaculture Design, Forest Gardening, Food Foresting, Practical Herbalism, as well as ‘Shamanu’ which is an elemental earth wisdom mentorship. Moving to Calgary allowed her to take more courses with the Wild Rose College of Alberta, completing Cosmic Gardening and Advanced Herbology. She is knowledgeable about the succession of plants and how the native plants in our areas work together, to create living art and harmonious gardens in your yard!
